Mark your calendar on August 25 for the Annual SEC Football Tailgate Kickoff party! More than 120 Austin-area SEC alumni braved a heat to attend last year's annual all-SEC tailgate. We'll be back in the same location at Zilker Park this year. Our chapter hopes to claim the horseshoes championship title! Watch for details on this fun activity and more to come soon. If you'd like to see what it looked like, a few photos are posted here.
It's a family- friendly event, and if you've been to one of these before, you know what a great time can be had by all ages. We?ll be at the Zilker Park Polo Tables again -- find written directions here and look for the signs when you get there!
We ask for a donation of $5 per adult, but it is completely voluntary. Kids under 12 are free either way. You don't have to pay it to come, but it will help us defray rental costs for the park space, as well as jumpers for the kiddos.
Bring all your own tailgate necessities: chairs, food, drinks (no glass). Don't forget the water! We're working to get some misters out there, but it does get hot. Zilker Park charges $3/car to park. Dogs on a leash are OK. "Kickoff" is at 1:00 p.m., and it usually lasts until about 6:00 p.m.
